Traveling Abroad Broadens the Mind

I enjoy traveling abroad. My farmer husband and I signed up for one of the tours of the Sian Ka ‘an Reserve in Mexico. It’s not far from where we are staying, so when the van came by to pick us up, we filled the last two seats.

The guide informed us that we were the only two on the tour who spoke English, besides him. This is not the first time this has happened. I find that a smile and a nod speak volumes.

Traveling abroad teaches you to be open-minded and respectful of other people’s perspectives. Different cultures have different ways to do things. It doesn’t make you any better or any less.

While enjoying the boat tour, it didn’t matter what language any of us spoke when we saw the dolphin come up out of the water. The awe of God’s designed nature is exciting in every language, no matter what country you are from.
