The “Nature” of a Dress
I was honored to accompany our future daughter-in-law, along with the group, to look for her wedding dress. The wedding shops make a whole thing of it now, including posh sofas to wait for dress changes and champagne (just like the TV show).
We quickly realized that what a dress looks like in a picture or hanging on the rack looks totally different than when you put it on. There are so many different possibilities and styles of dresses that it can very quickly become overwhelming. I felt overwhelmed, and I wasn’t even the one who had to make the decision.
One interesting fact that I learned was that there are many different categories of lace. Lace comes in a wide variety of styles, each with unique patterns, materials, and techniques.
Bobbin lace patterns are inspired by nature. These patterns can include floral motifs, leaves, birds, and other natural elements. Known for its detailed and handcrafted nature, this style is a popular choice for those who appreciate the art of lace-making.
It reminds me that nature is a fundamental part of everything we do, and that is how God designed it. We are intrinsically linked to nature, which in turn influences our songs, words, art, and even the styles of lace on wedding dresses!
“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” – Albert Einstein.
Have a fabulous week friend!
Blessings to you,
Debbie
