Don’t Take the Simple Things for Granted
Happy week of “Independence Day”!! I have loved watching reels from visitors all over the world as they watch and participate in the World Soccer Cup. Their reactions to discovering simple things available in the US for the first time are a joy to watch. Simple things that those of us who live here take for granted.
One guy I watched walks inside a restaurant and says, “Cold!” and then walks outside and says, “Hot”. He’s amazed that there’s such a drastic difference from walking through a door, something he obviously doesn’t have where he lives.
When my farmer husband and I travel to other countries, I am always amazed at how much people in other countries know about the US. Many times they know way more about US politics than we do!
Advertisements, TV shows, and billboards are copied and very similar to those in the US. The United States really is the superpower, and those of us who live here do not see it until we leave the country and experience what living in other countries is like.
The forefathers of this amazing country based their plans on God and His word. I believe that it is because of this that God has blessed the United States so abundantly. I am blessed to live here and have the opportunities that I have, as well as feeling the difference between cold and hot from walking through a door!
