The Thrills – and Fears – of Writing a Book

Good Morning Friends!

The new year definitely brought winter with it. Our part of the world is icy and white. I love looking out the window as long as I can stay inside where it is warm.

With the new year, I am back to working on my book project. I have never written a book, so I need to figure out the steps to go through the process.

I signed up for a 15-minute meeting with an actual publisher through Compel a few months ago. The gal I spoke with read my book proposal and gave me some excellent insight. It was a great opportunity for someone actually working in the book industry to look at it.

I will admit it was terrifying to let someone else read the first few chapters. I have been working on the book for five years, and this is the first time anyone else has ever read the whole thing. What if they think “my baby” is terrible? Yikes!

This sounds crazy, but I never considered what it would be like to let other people read it during this book-writing adventure! Writing it was never really my idea, so the thought of others actually reading it puts a whole new spin on things in my head.

Can anyone else relate? Please share your thoughts in the comments below!

Have a blessed week!

Debbie
