The Rhythm of a Tree

Looking out my office window, I see a big tree that has only lost about half its leaves. My curiosity got the best of me, so I researched why that would occur.

There are a few possible explanations for why the tree didn’t lose its leaves, and both involve the weather.

Early cold snaps or extra-long warm spells can throw off a tree’s rhythm and prevent leaf drop. No worries, the tree will be fine.

The leaves will eventually fall off, and new leaves will grow.

Thinking about the tree reminds me that writing a book also takes rhythm. When the idea for the book is new, fresh words grow into pages and chapters.

As the book is finalized and getting ready to print, words begin to fall off as the manuscript is edited and polished.

I have finally decided on a publisher for my book and have begun the lengthy process of getting it ready to print. It feels as if the book is dormant as we wait for all the conditions to be right for it to bloom.

Thinking about the outcome is exciting and worth the wait!

I hope you are looking forward to something this week that will be worth the wait!

Have a fabulous week, friend.

Blessings,

Debbie
